Job Description On behalf of our client, a busy multi-state farming and packing operation based in Salinas, CA, we are seeking candidates for the position of Payroll Technician. This is a full-time (direct hire) position offering a competitive wage and excellent benefits package upon meeting plan eligibility.

Key Responsibilities:

* Enter hours and process payroll for exempt, non-exempt, and piece rate using Famous
* Process and sort field paperwork and harvest tickets
* Data entry of harvest tickets to inventory as well as other AP entry
* Sort and distribute incoming mail
* Package and send outgoing mail
* Filing
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and customers
* Operate a variety of standard office machines including personal computer and a variety of computer software, printer, phone, fax, calculator and photocopy machines
* Maintain consistent and professional attendance, punctuality and personal appearance
* Assist Payroll/HR Manager with administrative HR duties

The above list of responsibilities is not exhaustive and employee may be asked to undertake reasonable additional duties and/or projects by the Payroll/HR Manager.
Candidate Requirements Ideal candidate will have the following skills, education and experience (or a combination of same may be considered):

* Knowledge of Famous or comparable software is required
* Five years minimum experience working in an agricultural dynamic in accounting
* Experience while working in a payroll role assisting with human resources or personnel functions
* Knowledge of growing operations and labor practices preferred. Familiar with labor crews and responsibilities thereof.
* Ability to work in fast paced environment
* Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic
* Knowledge of MS Office programs
* Accurate data entry skills are a must
* Two to three years dedicated to payroll processes including calculating piece rate is required
* Bilingual/Bi-literate (English/Spanish) language fluency is required
